Please note that Kit will normally only be available on sale on
those Sunday mornings when the U7s & U9s age groups are playing at
home. Please ask Lisa Robinson or Ruth McHenery
for more details.
A number of items can be ordered from the shop such
as:
- drill tops (heavy cotton training tops in
Wetherby RUFC colours)
- socks (club colours - red and white hoops)
- white cotton shorts
- club shirts, formal (light blue with collar and club
logo for under 13s and above)
- gum shields
- club ties

What kit will I need?
If you are coming along for the first time, you will need:
 |
some shorts and/or track suit
bottoms |
 |
|
|
one or two t-shirts or rugby shirts |
|
|
a windproof/showerproof top |
|
|
a drink |
|
|
trainers or rugby/football boots
with metal studs. Please do not wear boots with blades
or nylon studs as they can cause injuries to both the wearer and
other players. |
|
|
A desire to get muddy and have some
fun |
If you decide you want to continue, the
following kit is essential:
|
|
White cotton rugby shorts |
 |
|
|
a mouthguard - you won't be allowed
to play without one |
|
|
rugby or football boots with metal
studs |
|
|
a pair of Wetherby red and white
hooped socks - available from the club for a few pounds a pair |
|
|
Wetherby rugby shirt - these are
provided by the club free of charge, but must be returned at the
end of the season |
The following kit is recommended:
|
|
Warm clothing such as tracksuit
bottoms, woolly hat, gloves, windproof/showerproof jacket |

|
|
A named drinks bottle and plenty of
water to drink |
|
|
A dry change of clothes and a boot
bag for after the match unless you don't mind having a muddy
car! |
The following kit is optional.
Some wear it, some don't. It's up to you:

Some players wear head guards,
especially in the scrum |

Shoulder pads |

Thigh pads |

Rugby gloves with grips in wet
weather |

The kit can be bought at most good
sports shops or you can buy online using the links on the left of
this page.
The cost of the kit will depend on both
the size and type of kit you buy. It can be as little as £50
or so for a set of shorts, boots, mouth guard socks and water
bottle. If you are very serious about taking up the sport,
this can build as you buy more specialised equipment such as
pads, head guards, boots etc.
